If they can't even deliver tax reform - what exactly are they here for?

With the GOP failing to score a solid win on healthcare, Republicans now seem to be under increasing pressure to deliver a win on taxes for their party and the White House before the midterm elections.

Being two of the GOP’s top priorities at the beginning of the year, there were high expectations for success on ObamaCare repeal and tax reform, considering the fact that the party is in control of the House, Senate, and the White House.

With the Senate failing to pass the GOP’s healthcare legislation, the stakes seem to be even higher for the party on tax reform.

Tax reform is “now increasingly important to the economy, and increasingly important to Republicans’ political prospects in the future,” said Grover Norquist, President of the Americans for Tax Reform.

According to Norquist, GOP lawmakers, especially those up for reelection, need to deliver “spectacular” tax reforms, given the setback they received on healthcare.

He further explained that the GOP had made promises about how an Obamacare repeal and replace would boost economic growth, showing the true value of a Republican government. Hence, the GOP tax reform needs to give an even better upsurge to the economy.

On Tuesday, prominent Republicans also emphasized on the importance of tax reform that would augment economic growth.

“Important for Senate GOP to stay at table. #obamacare is collapsing. Regardless we are moving forward on bold #taxreform this year,” Kevin Brady (R-Texas) House Ways and Means Committee Chairman and the man in charge of the tax reform bill in the House, posted on Twitter on Tuesday.

Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) Senate Finance Committee Chairman, expressed concerns that the healthcare debacle could take up a lot of time lawmakers have for a tax reform effort. However, he said that he’s going to press the matter and push ahead.

“It’s always going to be difficult to do both,” Hatch said. “There’s nothing easy around here, and especially with the close numbers that we have.”

On the other hand, some are of the belief that the latest setback on healthcare could actually motivate lawmakers to get a win on taxes.

“I think probably it will make people even more determined to get tax reform,” Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) said.

Former Finance Committee aide, Dean Zerbe, said he’s expecting a “more fervent effort” from the Republicans on tax reforms, following their failure on healthcare.

“People are going to be focused because they need a win on the board,” he said.

According to experts, a comprehensive tax reform bill will be very tough to draft if healthcare legislation isn’t ready.

For Congressional Republicans, it was important to get done and over with healthcare before they moved on to tax reform because they wanted to repeal certain ObamaCare taxes. Hence, if lawmakers plan on repealing any of the ObamaCare taxes as part of a tax reform, they’ll need to come up with something to pay for those tax cuts.

Vaping Congressman
The proverbial "smoke-filled room" of the 21st century will be clouded by vape smoke, as politicians plot new ways to cheat taxpayers...

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) is coming under pressure for his protest against the anti-vaping law, on one hand, and his democratic challenger on the other.  Democrat, Ammar Campa-Najjar beat Hunter in fundraising by pulling in $165,330 in the period between April and June. Hunter, an incumbent who is expected to have a commanding lead in fundraising, was only able to raise $155,625.

Hunter rose to national prominence through his opposition to restrictions on vaping. He has been strongly arguing that the restriction on e-cigarette needs to be seriously reconsidered. “Let me show you the problem I have with Ms. Norton’s amendment,” Hunter argued.

Duncan whipped out a small electronic cigarette that contained nicotine and took a puff from it. Then he pulled out a larger red vaporizer that contained no nicotine. “This is not covered … under Ms. Norton’s amendment,” and puffed from the second device to prove his point… “That doesn’t make sense to me. Either say that an e-cigarette is illegal whether it has nicotine or not in it.”

Although Hunter has $617,757 in campaign funds in the bank, putting him way ahead of Campa-Najjar, he is facing an ongoing FBI investigation that is looking into his use of $336,664 of the campaign funds for his own use, is an issue that has dogged Hunter for months. Hunter has denied his involvement “in any criminal action,” and stated that he “wasn’t attentive enough to my campaign.”

“..Hunter has a solid voter registration advantage and has cruised to re-election in the past, he is now contending with a federal criminal investigation into improper use of more than $60,000 in campaign funds. Past finance reports showed that contributions were used for video games, dance recitals, tuition at his children’s’ private school, a cross-country flight for a pet rabbit, and other expenses,” The San Diego Union Tribune reported.

As highlighted by The San Diego Union Tribune, “Hunter said the purchases were an honest mistake because of a credit card mix-up, and has repaid his campaign. Legal fees, however, have cost his campaign significant amounts. Records show that he’s spent about $153,000 in attorney’s fees in the second quarter of this year.”

The Hill on the other hand, notes, “Hunter has spent $152,859 in capital and $114,412 in debt to seven law firms in the San Diego and Washington, D.C., areas since March, according to his latest campaign finance report.” And that, “the lawmaker raised about $155,625 in the same time frame.”

Although, Hunter is allowed to spend his campaign funds on legal fees, he mentioned that he will continue to look into all of his campaigns spending and will be cooperating with the officials involved in the investigation. Hunter’s attorneys, Elliot S. Berke and Gregory A. Vega, further emphasized, “Congressman Hunter intends to cooperate fully with the government on this investigation, and maintains that to the extent any mistakes were made they were strictly inadvertent and unintentional.”

Silly Democrats
"And I promise that we will stand here and obstruct every single one of Trump's attempts to make America great again, isn't that right Nancy?"

The democrats continue to show signs of desperation as they file a “no confidence” resolution against President Trump. Rep. Steve Cohen along with few other House Democrats questioned President Trump mental fitness to serve as the commander in chief of the United States.

“President Trump has been President for six months and his probationary period is long over,” Cohen argued. “This resolution sends a clear message to the President that we disapprove of his cumulative actions, that we are simpatico with our constituents and a majority of the America people, and that we have no confidence in his service.”

Talking about Trump’s past experiences, Cohen argues that Trump is a “president that you wouldn’t want your children to look up to.” “The way he talks about women, the press, the language he uses, the use of Twitter — you don’t want him to be a role model,” Cohen added. . “It’s injurious to our culture, and it’s injurious to … our foreign policy.”

While, highlighting the very famous former FBI Director James Comey’s firing, Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns, the controversy surrounding Trump’s connections with Russia over the release of classified information and his excessive use of Twitter to discuss important issues and to insult the press — all symbolize “unacceptable behavior.”

Cohen was joined in his decision of filing the resolution by lawmakers such Barbara Lee, Sheila Jackson Lee, Al Green, Judy Chu, Mark DeSaulnier, Bonnie Watson Coleman and other members of Congress.

“Enough is enough,” said Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif. “This is not a president who respects our norms, our laws or even our people. He has no compassion and, therefore, he does not have our confidence.”

“It’s clear President Trump has no idea what makes this country great,” she added.

While, the resolution barely has a chance to survive in the Republican controlled chamber, it lists eighty-eight reasons that highlight that President Trump is not suitable to continue his presidency. The real motive of the Democrats for filing the resolution still remains in question, as Cohen argue that the resolution was not filed to make an effect on Trump. “Is it going to have an effect on him? Apparently, his family members don’t have an effect on him; his Republican friends don’t; his Cabinet members don’t,” Cohen stated. “This is an attempt at a political intervention,” Cohen said.

Cohen further mentioned that he sought the House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s blessing before he filed the resolution. Pelosi along with few other member of the Democratic Party has been focusing on anti-Trump efforts such as pushing for setting up an independent commission to look into the possibility of a collusion between President Trump and Russia. Talking about Pelosi, Cohen stated, that “She said she didn’t have a problem with us going forward with these types of actions.”

He added, “She preferred people to stay focused on what she thinks is the most important item present, which is an independent prosecutor bill, which I support.”

It is to be noted that the Democrats need to pay attention to the levels of fitness of their own party members, as Pelosi read a false account of the 56 Declaration of Independence during a press conference help this week.

As per FreeBeacon:

“Pelosi read the article during an event held by Democratic lawmakers to discuss the “Democrats for Democracy Reform Legislative Package” and #wethepeople campaign. The legislative package and campaign is a so-called ‘task force’ aimed at “[reforming] government to ensure it works for all Americans.”

The discredited piece, titled ‘The Price They Paid,’ was a popular essay circulating around the internet on Independence Day. The article outlines the fates of those who signed the Declaration of Independence, but according to the fact checkers at Snopes, ‘many of its details are inaccurate.’

Voter Fraud
For people that are so obsessed with "election integrity," the Left sure seems oppose to a simple investigation into that exact question...

Trump expresses his confidence in the voter fraud commission and states that they will continue to find the “full truth.”

President Trump met with the voter fraud commission this Wednesday and emphasized on the importance of the commission to fight the dangers of voter fraud.

“Every time voter fraud occurs, it cancels out the vote of a lawful citizen and undermines democracy,” Trump stated in his meeting. “Can’t let that happen. Any form of illegal or fraudulent voting, whether by noncitizens or the deceased, and any form of voter suppression or intimidation must be stopped,” he added.

The country is left with “no choice” but to investigate the election process in order to “make America great again.” He called out on stated that were refusing to hand over information of voters and argued that “If any state does not want to share this information, one has to wonder, what they are worried about?” And added, “there’s something, there always is.”

Last month Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and vice chairman of the commission sent out a letter to all states requesting them to provide data such as Social Security numbers, party affiliations and voting records dating to ten years back, for each voter registered in each state. “It is crucial for the commission to consider your input as it collects data and identifies areas of opportunity to increase the integrity of our election systems,” Kobach wrote. However, the request was not well received by some of the states, as the state of Arizona and many other states refused to comply. Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan wrote back, “I share the concerns of many Arizona citizens that the Commission’s request implicates serious privacy concerns.”

“Since there is nothing in Executive Order 13799 (nor federal law) that gives the Commission authority to unilaterally acquire and disseminate such sensitive information, the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office is not in a position to fulfill your request,” she added.

Trump argued that the subject of voter fraud is something that is an “American issue” and that “We have to protect the integrity of the vote and our voters. This is not a Democrat or a Republican issue. It’s an American issue. It’s about the concern of so many Americans that improper voting has taken place and [is] cancelling out the votes of lawful American citizens,” Trump stated.

While, President Trump and his “election integrity” commission is looking into ways to better protect the ballot boxes and to protect the country from encountering voter fraud in the future, the Democrats argue back stating that Trump is only looking for proof to his claims that millions of votes very illegally casted in the 2016 presidential elections. They argued that although Trump won, but he did however lose popular vote his Democrat contestant Hillary Clinton.

Pence, who was also present in the meeting highlighted the bipatisian nature of the commission and stated, “This bipartisan group will perform a truly nonpartisan service to the American people.” he said.

“This commission has no preconceived notion or preordained results. We are fact finders,” he added.

Rhetoric Wall
How do you know Trump is serious about the border? The illegals certainly are taking his threats seriously!

The National Border Patrol Council President, Brandon Judd, expressed that there has been a significant drop in illegal immigration due to President Trump’s immigration related policies that are in place.

Although Trump’s famous US-Mexico has not yet been built, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection notes that there been a significant reduction in the number of illegal immigrants making their way into the United States through the southwestern border.

It has been noted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection that as of June they have experience a 53% reduction in the number of illegal immigration along the US-Mexico border, in comparison to June’16.

Judd stated that it is “miraculous” seeing that Trump administration has “caused the number of illegal border crosses to go down.”

“What we’ve seen is nothing short of miraculous,” Judd said on C-SPAN. “If you look at the rhetoric that President Trump has given, it’s caused the number of illegal border crossers to go down, something that we’ve never seen in history at the Border Patrol.”

Comparing the progress with what it was during the Obama administration, Judd stated that during Obama’s administration illegal immigrants were given an easy pass. He noted as the Obama administration would release those caught and issue a court date. With 80 percent of those being released never retuning back, many of the illegal immigrants would actually hand over themselves to law enforcement officers, and never return back once they were released with a court date.

“When you hear the Obama administration say we have to bring these people out of the shadows, what they were doing was actually going into the shadows instead of coming out,” Judd said.

Trump administration on the other hand holds on those caught until their court fate and would present them with a chance to prove as to why they should be allowed to stay in the United States. The former administration almost as if “skipped” important measures in hopes that the illegal immigrants would actually show up on their court date.

“As far as the Trump administration’s efforts on immigration, this is something they campaigned heavily on,” he said. “At six months, where we are on meeting those promises, we are seeing nothing short of miraculous. If you look at the rhetoric that President Trump has given, it has caused a number of illegal border crossings to go down. We have never seen such a drop that we currently have,” he further added.

In an appearance on “Fox and Friends” Judd further highlighted that with President Trump’s plan to build a wall along the US-Mexico border has increased the agency’s morale. He stated that the agency has an “energy” like never before and is committed to help promote President Trump’s agenda of putting an end to illegal immigration.

“There’s a vibe, there’s an energy in the Border Patrol that’s never been there before,” Mr. Judd said.

“In the 20 years I’ve been in the patrol, we haven’t seen this type of energy, and we’re excited because we signed up to do a job and this president is allowing us to do that job.”

Judd believes that Trump as “a president has done a great job of actually enforcing the law — something we didn’t see in the last eight years,” and that And if we continue to do that, then a clear message will be sent throughout the world that if you cross our borders illegally, you will be detained and you will be sent back.”

“If you look at the rhetoric that the president sent out, we’ve had a drop that we’ve never seen before with any president,” he continued. “If you’re in the left, right or middle, you have to say this president has done exactly what he promised to do and we do have border security like what we expect to see,” he added.

Student Thugs
It's the '60s all over again - but somehow even more destructive and violent...

Social justice advocates group at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington could face criminal charges if they continue to intimidate fellow students and faculty members.

It all started when Professor Bret Weinstein, a biology professor, was labeled as racist and was forced out after a severe backlash from students. His crime? He voiced his disapproval of Latino students forcing White students off campus during the “Day of Absence” in May.

The situation worsened as some of the students at the college presented a list of demands to the College President George Bridges, whom they severely threatened and harassed to the point where the president couldn’t even use the restroom if not escorted by the students. Bridges eventually gave into the demands, one of which included ending homework. It was further noted that some of the students even began carrying bats to campus and called it an act of “community policing.”

However, it was one student, McKenzie Kyger, that broke her silence and told the board that her fellow students had labelled her as a white supremacist, also because she disagreed with some of their actions. She further confessed that she wasn’t allowed to speak at meetings simply because of the color of her skin and argued the college had become an “unsafe place.”

“This behavior has actually been encouraged and because of this I feel like people are becoming more violent and the campus is becoming more of an unsafe place. I have been to several meetings to speak. I’ve been told several times that I’m not allowed to speak because I’m white,” Kyger said.

“This school seems to focus so much on race that it is actually becoming more racist in a different sort of way. And because I say that — because I choose not to focus on race I have actually been labeled a racist and a white supremacist. If anyone took the time to actually know me, it’s not true at all,” Kyger added.

Weinstein also broke silence and indicated that harassment that some students and college staff were facing. “Do you know that the college descended into literal anarchy. For days the campus was not under control of the state, it was under the control of protesters. There were assaults, there were batteries, there was pressure not to report crimes to the police. People were, by the legal definition I believe, kidnapped and imprisoned. That included faculty members and administrators. Others were hunted on the campus.”

“Lawless bands roamed the campus unimpeded. Police were physically and intentionally blocked by protesters. Police were cruelly, systematically and personally taunted. They were humiliated and forced to stand down by the president. Students that held different opinions were, by the protesters own analysis, stalked, harassed … their names, pictures, addresses, and phone numbers were distributed online.

“Do you know that although the code of conduct is supposed to protect all of us that Dr. Bridges decided to selectively suspend it, giving some students license to threaten others.”

Not everyone agreed with Weinstein and Kyger, and most demanded that the board to “strategically and thoughtfully choose to listen, find and tell the stories of what happened, stories that understand social change to be messy and righteous, difficult and necessary.” However, the verdict is finally in, as a memo sent out by Washington’s Evergreen State College’s administrators to student body indicated that the actions taken by the Washington’s Evergreen State College’s administrators had been illegal and could be subjected to criminal charges in the future. “In the future, individuals could be charged with crimes including obstructing law enforcement, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and/or unlawful imprisonment,” the memo stated. “Preventing a law enforcement officer from responding could place community members at great risk. Blocking egress doors is a violation of fire codes. This action endangered everyone in the Library.”

Ben Rhodes
"What is the latest secret intel you have on the Trump Administration Ben?"

Deputy assistant to President Trump is ready to go head to head with former White House staff member Ben Rhodes, to prove that President Trump’s administration is far stronger that Obama’s administration ever was.

In his interview with Sean Hannity on Friday, Gorka had expressed in the past that as “someone has to be the president’s pitbull,” I would gladly do the job. He highlighted that the Trump administration is fully equipped to deal with everything that comes their way. “We’ve got beautiful, intelligent women like Kellyanne [Conway],” Gorka stated. “We’ve got brave professionals like Sean Spicer. Somebody has to be the president’s pit bull and I’m ready.”

However, this wasn’t the only highlight to of the week that featured Gorka.

Gorka has issued a challenge to Obama’s aide Ben Rhodes, from his Twitter account in response to Jake Tapper who claimed that, Ben Rhodes “would put his ‘graduate degree’ against [Sebastian Gorka’s] PhD [sic] any day of the week.” “Okay Jake, host the debate then,” stated Gorka.

“I’d be delighted,” he tweeted. “What say you Mr. [Rhodes,] Mr. [Tapper]?”

The tweet contained a video of a very combative exchange between Jake Tapper and Gorka. Towards the end, the Trump aide mocks a former Trump aide’s graduate degree, and Tapper jabs back at him.

In a heated argument with Jake Tapper, Gorka criticized that “policies that were borne in the beltway by people who’ve never worn a uniform, people that were in the White House like Ben Rhodes.”

“They helped create the firestorm that is the Middle East that is ISIS today,” he further added. “So we are open to new ideas because the last sixteen years have failed American national interests, and the American taxpayer,” he stated.

Tapper responded with a challenge to Gorka, “There were plenty of people who wore the uniform who advised President Obama and President Bush.”

“Not people as influential as Ben Rhodes who had a Master’s degree in fictional writing,” Gorka argued. “That is disastrous.”

And then came the challenge where Tapper argued that people like Rhodes could “put his graduate degree against” Gorka’s PHD “any day of the week.

“Well, I’m sure he would put his graduate degree against yours any day of the week,” Tapper stated. “Sebastian Gorka, I appreciate your time,” he added.

Gorka, took on the challenge as he expressed, “Anytime, I’d be glad to debate him on your show.’

However, the discussion didn’t end with the show, but continued on Twitter as Gorka tweeted “I’d be delighted. What say you Mr. @brhodes?,” as he went on share a clip from the show.

During his interview with Tapper Gorka backed Trump and his administration by stating that America needs to give “collaboration, cooperation, a chance.”

He added, “The fact is we may not share the same philosophy. We may not share the same type of statesman view of the world. But the fact is there are some issues of common concern.”

"We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning"

It seemed like the entirety of the United States of America was against the travel ban imposed by Donald Trump as his first major executive order. Just to refresh your memory, it was to stop people from six Muslim majority from entering the United States and the mainstream media criticized Trump for this decision. There was concern that it violated human rights, and would cause more harm than good for the United States image across the world as well.

The Democrats came out with full force to voice frustration at Trump and his administration, and it seemed like the wheels were about to come off with massive protests being held on airports across the country. However, a recent survey conducted by Politico reveals that 60% of registered voters supported the Travel ban imposed by Trump. The ban denies entry to people coming from six Muslim majority countries for an indefinite time-period, and this caused a lot of people to be stranded in limbo.

Democrats supporting Travel Ban?

The most shocking result of the survey conducted by Politico was not that 89% Republicans support the ban, but that 41% of Democrats also support it. This comes as a surprise, but there were 46% of Democrats who oppose the ban, compared to only 9% Republicans. There has also been a change in Independent supporters, with 56% supporting the travel ban, and 30% not in favor of it.

This is in stark contrast to the picture that the mainstream media is trying to paint, and it seems that there is a personal agenda against Trump and his policies. Contrary to what the media would have people believe, there is a lot of support for the Travel Ban imposed by Trump, and Democrats are also backing it.

New Guidelines Shifting Perspective

The survey covered by Politico shows that a lot of people support the new guidelines added into the travel ban, which suggest that visa applicants from the six Muslim majority countries, must prove they have close family relationships with a U.S. resident. The media isn’t highlighting the fact that there is now popular support for the travel ban, because they don’t want to give credit to Trump, who did what he promised in his very first executive order.

The mainstream media would have you believe that there is an ongoing war between the Democrats and the Republicans, and will never show you that the Democrats are also fans of the Travel Ban.

Suspicious Death
When do things stop being just strange coincidences, and start to become a pattern? Asking for a friend.

A recent story released by the Wall Street Journal ties the sudden death in May of Republican operative with him having a key role in retrieving Hillary Clinton’s e-mails from Russian hackers.

Peter W. Smith, 81, killed himself on 14th May with a plastic bag over his head a helium source, and left behind a suicide note, only two weeks after his interview with a reporter from The Wall Street Journal and six weeks before the story was published. His cause of death was listed as “asphyxiation due to displacement of oxygen in confined space with helium.”

The report by the Journal further reveals that the Smith had gathered a time to work on obtaining emails that they believe were stolen from the private sever that Clinton has been using during her term as the secretary of stated. Smith indicated that he was in search of more than 30,000 emails that Clinton had claimed that she had delated as they were in relation to matters very personal to her. Smith mentioned that he believed that the Russian hackers had something to do with the missing emails, and him and his team targeted hackers that had the possibility of having ties with the Russian government.

The story uncovering Smith’s role in obtaining Clinton’s emails indicated that he was a key source in the Hillary Clinton email controversy, and that he had reached out to dozens of hacking groups, with al teat two of them having ties with the Russian government.

“We knew the people who had these were probably around the Russian government,” Smith stated.

In his interview, Smith claimed that although he wasn’t working for the then presidential nominee Trump. However, it has been noted that he used Michael Flynn’s name in trying to extract information from the groups of hackers. Eric York, a computer-security expert told the journal that Smith said, “I’m talking to Michael Flynn about this—if you find anything, can you let me know?”

While, Smith’s death has many questions linked to it, and it has been noted that Smith had published two blogs on the day of his death, one of which went on to challenge the findings presented by the United States Intelligence Agency that indicate that Russia interfered with the 2016 presidential elections.

According to the police, Smith’s suicide note revealed that Smith had taken his life due to a “recent bad turn in health since January, 2017” and because his some $5 million life insurance was due to expire soon. The note further indicated that there was no foul play whatsoever” that lead him to commit suicide.

The reporter from the Journal on the other hand mentioned that Smith had expressed “no indication that was ill or planning to take his own life,” during their interview and so, his death came as a surprise to all. “When I spoke to Peter Smith I had no indication that he was ill or planning to take his own life,” tweeted Shane Harris, from the Journal.

Trump Impeachment
And you're telling me Republicans didn't have the balls to file these against Obama, even after years of Obama's failed and dangerous Presidency!?

Rep. Brad Sherman has filed an article of impeachment against President Donald Trump. The article talks about Trump obstructing justice during the federal investigation that was launched against Russia’s interference with the 2016 presidential elections.

While a majority vote in the House is required to impeach the president, it is noted that 46 seats in the House fall under the Republicans.

In his article to impeach President Trump, Sherman mentioned how President Trump had fired FBI director James Comey out of the blue, in May. He further mentioned that this firing should be considered as obstruction justice and accounts as “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Sherman argued that he wishes “to begin a long process to protect our country from abuse of power, obstruction of justice, and impulsive, ignorant incompetence.”

In his impeachment article he cited the allegations made by Comey against Trump for pressurizing him to quit the investigation. “In all of this, Donald John Trump has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as president and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States. Wherefore, Donald John Trump, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office,” the article of impeachment read.

Although, it seems as almost unlikely that Sherman’s article will have success. However, it is believed that it could perhaps serve as a reminder to President Trump and his administration to work on their relations with the Republican Party to ensure that they continue to remain in control.

Much to our surprise, the article came about only one day after President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. was noted to have been in contact with a Russian lawyer that claimed to have “damaging” information on Hillary Clinton, during the 2016 elections.

A spokeswoman for the White House, Sarah Huckabee Sander argued that the article is “ridiculous,” and is nothing more than a “political game.”

“I think that is utterly and completely ridiculous and a political game at its worst,” she stated.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) showed her support, as Ashley Etienne, a spokeswoman for Pelosi stated, “Leader Pelosi has repeatedly called for an outside, independent commission to get to the bottom of Trump’s connection to Russia’s interference in our election and to examine ways to protect the integrity of our democracy from foreign meddling in the future.”

“Recent revelations, coupled with [the] president’s unprecedented campaign of dishonesty and secrecy, give greater urgency to the need for House Republicans [to] bring a vote to the floor immediately to establish an outside, independent commission.” However, Pelosi went on to argue that the Democrats need to invest their time into considering issues that are far more important, such as the issue regarding the Healthcare bill that they have at hand.
