If they can't even deliver tax reform - what exactly are they here for?

With the GOP failing to score a solid win on healthcare, Republicans now seem to be under increasing pressure to deliver a win on taxes for their party and the White House before the midterm elections.

Being two of the GOP’s top priorities at the beginning of the year, there were high expectations for success on ObamaCare repeal and tax reform, considering the fact that the party is in control of the House, Senate, and the White House.

With the Senate failing to pass the GOP’s healthcare legislation, the stakes seem to be even higher for the party on tax reform.

Tax reform is “now increasingly important to the economy, and increasingly important to Republicans’ political prospects in the future,” said Grover Norquist, President of the Americans for Tax Reform.

According to Norquist, GOP lawmakers, especially those up for reelection, need to deliver “spectacular” tax reforms, given the setback they received on healthcare.

He further explained that the GOP had made promises about how an Obamacare repeal and replace would boost economic growth, showing the true value of a Republican government. Hence, the GOP tax reform needs to give an even better upsurge to the economy.

On Tuesday, prominent Republicans also emphasized on the importance of tax reform that would augment economic growth.

“Important for Senate GOP to stay at table. #obamacare is collapsing. Regardless we are moving forward on bold #taxreform this year,” Kevin Brady (R-Texas) House Ways and Means Committee Chairman and the man in charge of the tax reform bill in the House, posted on Twitter on Tuesday.

Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) Senate Finance Committee Chairman, expressed concerns that the healthcare debacle could take up a lot of time lawmakers have for a tax reform effort. However, he said that he’s going to press the matter and push ahead.

“It’s always going to be difficult to do both,” Hatch said. “There’s nothing easy around here, and especially with the close numbers that we have.”

On the other hand, some are of the belief that the latest setback on healthcare could actually motivate lawmakers to get a win on taxes.

“I think probably it will make people even more determined to get tax reform,” Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) said.

Former Finance Committee aide, Dean Zerbe, said he’s expecting a “more fervent effort” from the Republicans on tax reforms, following their failure on healthcare.

“People are going to be focused because they need a win on the board,” he said.

According to experts, a comprehensive tax reform bill will be very tough to draft if healthcare legislation isn’t ready.

For Congressional Republicans, it was important to get done and over with healthcare before they moved on to tax reform because they wanted to repeal certain ObamaCare taxes. Hence, if lawmakers plan on repealing any of the ObamaCare taxes as part of a tax reform, they’ll need to come up with something to pay for those tax cuts.

Police Officer
If you can't laugh at yourself, you are taking yourself waaaay to seriously...

NYPD Police Commissioner James O’Neill shamed activist groups such as Black Life Matters for their blatant hypocrisy, and for promoting violence against the police.

In his eulogy for Officer Miosotis Familia, O’Neill stated, “Let me tell you something.” “Regular people sign up to be cops. They sign up for this job of protecting strangers, knowing there are inherent risks. But not one of us ever agreed to be murdered in an act of indefensible hate. Not one of us signed up to never return to our family or loved ones.”

O’Neill taunted the assembled activists, asking, “So, where are the demonstrations for this single mom, who cared for her elderly mother and her own three children?”

One of the activists, DeRay Mckesson had recently stirred racial controversy by denouncing the upcoming movie “War for the Planet of the Apes” for allegedly associating black people with apes. In his tweet, Mckesson stated, “Given the history of rendering black people as apes, I’m offended & appalled by the lack of consciousness in Hollywood. #PlanetOfTheApes. “In associating black people w/ apes, active work is being done to perpetuate the dehumanization of black ppl in mass media.” His tweet was able to attract several Twitter users that jumped in to voice their opinions against the creators of the movie.

Recently, Black Lives Matter activist group released a video criticizing news hosts that have called the Black Lives Matter movement “aggressive” and “fear-mongering.”

The narrator in the video states, “They use their guns to assassinate black people. They use their schools to funnel black students through a school-to-prison pipeline. They use their state institutions, bought politicians, business conglomerates and white-supremacist domestic terrorists to incite violence over and over again.” And then they use their new president to enact a law-and-order administration.”

The inflammatory video goes on to declare, “And then they use their new president to enact a law-and-order administration. All to make them shoot first, to make them ask questions later, make them scream, “I thought he had a gun in his hand” and ‘I feared for my life’ and ‘he matched the description of a suspect’ and ‘she was threatening us.’ To shoot and kill Philando Castile, Charleena Lyles, Kisha Michael, Keith Bursey and Wakiesha Wilson until the only option left is for black people to disrupt the systems that keep us oppressed and build the kinds of communities in which we want to live. And when that happens, they’ll use it as an excuse to kill more of us. The only way we stop this, the only way we save our communities and our struggle for freedom is to fight this violence with the raised, clenched, black fist of resistance. We are Black Lives Matter, and we are freedom’s future place.”

Robert Mueller
"But, if you fire me, who will continue the witch hunt?"

President Trump seems to get increasingly frustrated with the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential elections. He recently criticized special counsel Robert Mueller, the man in charge of the investigation, warning that he would be crossing the line by looking into the president’s personal businesses and finances.

According to recent reports, Mueller has now expanded the investigation to include Trump and his associates’ business transactions. The latest development in the long running Russian investigation is sure to further intensify the feud between the president and the authorities.

Mueller is also looking into potential obstruction of justice by President Trump, following his dismissal of Director FBI James Comey, at the peak of the federal agency’s probe into collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow. It was Trump’s decision to fire Comey that later forced him to appoint Mueller as special counsel in the investigation.

While the president has been calling the investigation a “witch hunt,” Mueller has been recruiting some of the most popular lawyers in the country in the past couple of weeks; however, some of the special counsel’s appointees have faced criticism for being donors to several Democratic candidates.

Robert Mueller, who is also a former FBI Director with a reputation to uphold, was appointed as special counsel in the investigation by the Justice Department in May, following Trump’s dismissal of Comey.

In his role as the special counsel, Mueller has all the authority to investigate Russia’s alleged in the presidential elections and also allegations of the Trump campaign’s collusion with the Kremlin. While Trump is obviously getting frustrated with the direction in which the probe is headed, legal experts say it’s Mueller’s duty to look at the case from all aspects.

“I am totally not surprised that Mueller is following any leads,” said Steven Cash, a renowned DC attorney. “That’s the way all investigations are conducted, particularly into complex relations of business people.”

However, some Republicans believe Trump is right in accusing Mueller of overreaching.

“Mueller crosses ‘red line’ into potentially all of Trump’s billion$ in transactions. We now face a partisan war of investigative attrition,” Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) tweeted Thursday.

The spotlight seems to have shifted on to Mueller and the ongoing investigation once again, following Trump’s interview with the New York Times, where the president said that it would be a clear “violation” for Mueller to look into his family’s financial transactions. The president, however, declined to comment on the course of action he would take if such a thing happened.

But Trump did suggest that he had compromising information on the special counsel, stressing on the fact that he interviewed him as a potential replacement for Comey in May.

“The next day, he is appointed special counsel. I said, what the hell is this all about? Talk about conflicts? But he was interviewing for the job,” Trump told the Times. “There were many other conflicts that I haven’t said, but I will at some point.”

The president added, “I have done nothing wrong. A special counsel should never have been appointed in this case.”

The remarks have once again raised speculation that Trump could dismiss Mueller, a decision that many Republicans have constantly warned him against.

Member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Republican Senator Marco Rubio (Fla.), while talking to reporters on Thursday, said that “it would be a mistake to fire Bob Mueller,” calling him “a highly credible individual who will do a good job.”

However, President Trump’s lawyer and member of the American Center for Law & Justice, Jay Sekulow, last month hinted that the president could fire Mueller if he thought the investigation was not headed in the right direction.

“The president has authority to take action,” Sekulow said, while talking to ABC News. “Whether he would do it is ultimately a decision the president makes.”

Conversely, some think that Trump’s remarks about Mueller could be used against him as supporting evidence.

“Mueller like any good prosecutor will be looking at tweets, interviews, the Lester Holt interview, other public and private comments as potential admissions that are indicators of the president’s true intent,” said Ron Hosko, assistant director of the FBI under Mueller. “I think [Trump] is really on slippery terrain when he makes these public comments that … if charges were to come, could be potentially used as evidence of his intent.”

“Depending how the rest of the case lines up, it could enhance his risk,” Hosko added.

Atomic Bomb
They are stealing our jobs, our manufacturing, and now our nuke secrets too?

A government-owned nuclear laboratory with a lengthy history of security breaches is under fire again for mistakenly shipping radioactive material on a commercial cargo plane. It marks the latest of many shameful scandals at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, among the world’s largest science institutions and the nation’s key nuclear weapons research facility. The massive lab is charged with developing technology to reduce global threats and ensure the safety, security and reliability of the U.S. nuclear deterrent.

Judicial Watch has long monitored the Los Alamos National Laboratory and was heavily involved in exposing a Chinese communist scientist (Wen Ho Lee), who stole nuclear secrets from the facility back in 1999. The Bill Clinton Justice Department refused to prosecute Lee because then Attorney General Janet Reno claimed the accusations against him were racist. Judicial Watch represented the whistleblower, Notra Trulock, responsible for launching an investigation into Lee’s actions. Trulok was the Department of Energy’s (DOE) intelligence operations chief and Clinton administration officials defamed him by accusing him of being a racist to cover up Lee’s repeated and embarrassing security violations.

A multitude of scandals have rocked the facility since then and Judicial Watch has closely followed the government’s perpetual failure to adequately guard the lab’s highly classified material. A few years ago, a Los Alamos scientist and his wife, both contractors at the facility, stole “classified restricted data” involving nuclear weapons and passed it along to a foreign government that’s hostile to the U.S. The scientist, Pedro Leonardo Mancheron, is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Argentina and his wife, Marjorie, also an American citizen, did technical writing and editing at Los Alamos.

Both individuals had security clearances and passed the classified material to a person they believed to be a Venezuelan government official. The scientist admitted selling the information relating to the “United States’ national defense” and lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). His wife admitted communicating restricted data belonging to the United States to another person with reason to believe that the information would be used to secure an advantage to Venezuela. She also admitted lying to the FBI.

A few years earlier, Los Alamos officials sent top secret data relating to nuclear weapons via an open electronic mail network and police accidentally stumbled upon it in a drug dealer’s mobile home during a drug bust. The highly classified information included details of the actual characteristics of nuclear material used in weapons. The 1,500 highly classified nuclear weapons designs were stashed in a trailer park near the lab along with paraphernalia to manufacture methamphetamine. This was hardly an isolated incident. In the late 90s and early 2000 the facility became an embarrassment to the Energy Department. Revelations of theft, fraud, security lapses and lax oversight kept Los Alamos in the news and led to the release of an Energy Department document labeling it “a systematic management failure.”

The problem is not limited to Los Alamos. The nation’s other government-owned nuclear labs have also experienced decades of faulty management, weak security and lousy oversight. A few years ago, a federal audit blasted the government agency, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), responsible for securing the nation’s nuclear weapons—and the facilities where they are housed. Among the probe’s findings was that Los Alamos grants entire organizations or functional groups unauthorized access to nuclear weapons drawings, in violation of DOE rules.

At another New Mexico facility, Sandia National Laboratory, investigators found repeated instances of “ineffective management of classified nuclear weapons drawings, a situation that could lead to unauthorized changes to the drawings.” At the Pantex nuclear weapons assembly plant in Texas, officials couldn’t even find a chunk of the nuclear weapons that federal investigators picked from the stockpile for testing. Keep in mind that these are government facilities that supposedly operate with maximum security.

The latest incident at Los Alamos was reported this month in a local newspaper article that says procedures were not followed when shipping “special nuclear material” to facilities in California and South Carolina. The radioactive material had been packaged for ground transport, the article states, but was mistakenly shipped aboard a commercial cargo plane, a violation of U.S. regulations. “Employees have been fired and other personnel actions have been taken,” according to the story. Not surprisingly, officials at the facility declined to provide details about the actions against the negligent employees and downplayed it as a “mix-up.”

Voter Fraud
For people that are so obsessed with "election integrity," the Left sure seems oppose to a simple investigation into that exact question...

Trump expresses his confidence in the voter fraud commission and states that they will continue to find the “full truth.”

President Trump met with the voter fraud commission this Wednesday and emphasized on the importance of the commission to fight the dangers of voter fraud.

“Every time voter fraud occurs, it cancels out the vote of a lawful citizen and undermines democracy,” Trump stated in his meeting. “Can’t let that happen. Any form of illegal or fraudulent voting, whether by noncitizens or the deceased, and any form of voter suppression or intimidation must be stopped,” he added.

The country is left with “no choice” but to investigate the election process in order to “make America great again.” He called out on stated that were refusing to hand over information of voters and argued that “If any state does not want to share this information, one has to wonder, what they are worried about?” And added, “there’s something, there always is.”

Last month Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and vice chairman of the commission sent out a letter to all states requesting them to provide data such as Social Security numbers, party affiliations and voting records dating to ten years back, for each voter registered in each state. “It is crucial for the commission to consider your input as it collects data and identifies areas of opportunity to increase the integrity of our election systems,” Kobach wrote. However, the request was not well received by some of the states, as the state of Arizona and many other states refused to comply. Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan wrote back, “I share the concerns of many Arizona citizens that the Commission’s request implicates serious privacy concerns.”

“Since there is nothing in Executive Order 13799 (nor federal law) that gives the Commission authority to unilaterally acquire and disseminate such sensitive information, the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office is not in a position to fulfill your request,” she added.

Trump argued that the subject of voter fraud is something that is an “American issue” and that “We have to protect the integrity of the vote and our voters. This is not a Democrat or a Republican issue. It’s an American issue. It’s about the concern of so many Americans that improper voting has taken place and [is] cancelling out the votes of lawful American citizens,” Trump stated.

While, President Trump and his “election integrity” commission is looking into ways to better protect the ballot boxes and to protect the country from encountering voter fraud in the future, the Democrats argue back stating that Trump is only looking for proof to his claims that millions of votes very illegally casted in the 2016 presidential elections. They argued that although Trump won, but he did however lose popular vote his Democrat contestant Hillary Clinton.

Pence, who was also present in the meeting highlighted the bipatisian nature of the commission and stated, “This bipartisan group will perform a truly nonpartisan service to the American people.” he said.

“This commission has no preconceived notion or preordained results. We are fact finders,” he added.

Rhetoric Wall
How do you know Trump is serious about the border? The illegals certainly are taking his threats seriously!

The National Border Patrol Council President, Brandon Judd, expressed that there has been a significant drop in illegal immigration due to President Trump’s immigration related policies that are in place.

Although Trump’s famous US-Mexico has not yet been built, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection notes that there been a significant reduction in the number of illegal immigrants making their way into the United States through the southwestern border.

It has been noted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection that as of June they have experience a 53% reduction in the number of illegal immigration along the US-Mexico border, in comparison to June’16.

Judd stated that it is “miraculous” seeing that Trump administration has “caused the number of illegal border crosses to go down.”

“What we’ve seen is nothing short of miraculous,” Judd said on C-SPAN. “If you look at the rhetoric that President Trump has given, it’s caused the number of illegal border crossers to go down, something that we’ve never seen in history at the Border Patrol.”

Comparing the progress with what it was during the Obama administration, Judd stated that during Obama’s administration illegal immigrants were given an easy pass. He noted as the Obama administration would release those caught and issue a court date. With 80 percent of those being released never retuning back, many of the illegal immigrants would actually hand over themselves to law enforcement officers, and never return back once they were released with a court date.

“When you hear the Obama administration say we have to bring these people out of the shadows, what they were doing was actually going into the shadows instead of coming out,” Judd said.

Trump administration on the other hand holds on those caught until their court fate and would present them with a chance to prove as to why they should be allowed to stay in the United States. The former administration almost as if “skipped” important measures in hopes that the illegal immigrants would actually show up on their court date.

“As far as the Trump administration’s efforts on immigration, this is something they campaigned heavily on,” he said. “At six months, where we are on meeting those promises, we are seeing nothing short of miraculous. If you look at the rhetoric that President Trump has given, it has caused a number of illegal border crossings to go down. We have never seen such a drop that we currently have,” he further added.

In an appearance on “Fox and Friends” Judd further highlighted that with President Trump’s plan to build a wall along the US-Mexico border has increased the agency’s morale. He stated that the agency has an “energy” like never before and is committed to help promote President Trump’s agenda of putting an end to illegal immigration.

“There’s a vibe, there’s an energy in the Border Patrol that’s never been there before,” Mr. Judd said.

“In the 20 years I’ve been in the patrol, we haven’t seen this type of energy, and we’re excited because we signed up to do a job and this president is allowing us to do that job.”

Judd believes that Trump as “a president has done a great job of actually enforcing the law — something we didn’t see in the last eight years,” and that And if we continue to do that, then a clear message will be sent throughout the world that if you cross our borders illegally, you will be detained and you will be sent back.”

“If you look at the rhetoric that the president sent out, we’ve had a drop that we’ve never seen before with any president,” he continued. “If you’re in the left, right or middle, you have to say this president has done exactly what he promised to do and we do have border security like what we expect to see,” he added.

Student Thugs
It's the '60s all over again - but somehow even more destructive and violent...

Social justice advocates group at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington could face criminal charges if they continue to intimidate fellow students and faculty members.

It all started when Professor Bret Weinstein, a biology professor, was labeled as racist and was forced out after a severe backlash from students. His crime? He voiced his disapproval of Latino students forcing White students off campus during the “Day of Absence” in May.

The situation worsened as some of the students at the college presented a list of demands to the College President George Bridges, whom they severely threatened and harassed to the point where the president couldn’t even use the restroom if not escorted by the students. Bridges eventually gave into the demands, one of which included ending homework. It was further noted that some of the students even began carrying bats to campus and called it an act of “community policing.”

However, it was one student, McKenzie Kyger, that broke her silence and told the board that her fellow students had labelled her as a white supremacist, also because she disagreed with some of their actions. She further confessed that she wasn’t allowed to speak at meetings simply because of the color of her skin and argued the college had become an “unsafe place.”

“This behavior has actually been encouraged and because of this I feel like people are becoming more violent and the campus is becoming more of an unsafe place. I have been to several meetings to speak. I’ve been told several times that I’m not allowed to speak because I’m white,” Kyger said.

“This school seems to focus so much on race that it is actually becoming more racist in a different sort of way. And because I say that — because I choose not to focus on race I have actually been labeled a racist and a white supremacist. If anyone took the time to actually know me, it’s not true at all,” Kyger added.

Weinstein also broke silence and indicated that harassment that some students and college staff were facing. “Do you know that the college descended into literal anarchy. For days the campus was not under control of the state, it was under the control of protesters. There were assaults, there were batteries, there was pressure not to report crimes to the police. People were, by the legal definition I believe, kidnapped and imprisoned. That included faculty members and administrators. Others were hunted on the campus.”

“Lawless bands roamed the campus unimpeded. Police were physically and intentionally blocked by protesters. Police were cruelly, systematically and personally taunted. They were humiliated and forced to stand down by the president. Students that held different opinions were, by the protesters own analysis, stalked, harassed … their names, pictures, addresses, and phone numbers were distributed online.

“Do you know that although the code of conduct is supposed to protect all of us that Dr. Bridges decided to selectively suspend it, giving some students license to threaten others.”

Not everyone agreed with Weinstein and Kyger, and most demanded that the board to “strategically and thoughtfully choose to listen, find and tell the stories of what happened, stories that understand social change to be messy and righteous, difficult and necessary.” However, the verdict is finally in, as a memo sent out by Washington’s Evergreen State College’s administrators to student body indicated that the actions taken by the Washington’s Evergreen State College’s administrators had been illegal and could be subjected to criminal charges in the future. “In the future, individuals could be charged with crimes including obstructing law enforcement, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and/or unlawful imprisonment,” the memo stated. “Preventing a law enforcement officer from responding could place community members at great risk. Blocking egress doors is a violation of fire codes. This action endangered everyone in the Library.”

Maxine Waters
Mad Maxine: Furious Allegations... coming to a theater near you.

As the Democrats continue to criticize Trump for his use of Twitter to discuss sensitive issues, it is important that they start taking a look at one of their own.

Maxine Waters continues to promote her agenda against impeaching President Trump, as she tries to take a stab at White House press secretary, Sean Spicer.

Waters tweeted on Friday stating, “Has anyone checked on Sean Spicer?”

However, the tweet backfired as Spicer didn’t hold back on his change to highlight Waters’ special position as “one of the most corrupt politicians.”

Spicer tweeted back, “Just reading about how you were named one of the most corrupt politicians in DC. Congrats!” in response to Water’s failed attempt to let down President Trump and his administration.

Despite being labelled as the most corrupt House member by both the conservative and the liberals group, Waters has been on President Trump’s case since the beginning of time, and has been failing her every attempt in trying to persuade Americans to impeach Trump. She stated that she is ready to take “the gloves off” and fight against Trump who is supposedly “a bully and dangerous for this country.”

“Trump was just so outrageous, so disrespectful, such a bully and dangerous for this country, I decided, ‘You know what? I’m taking the gloves off and I’m going to step out,’” Ms. Waters said. “I was going to not only challenge him but encourage others to see him for what he is: basically a bully, an egotistical maniac, a liar and someone who did not need to be president.”

Waters stated that President Trump is a “disgusting, poor excuse of a man.” She has called Mr. Trump and his administration “the Kremlin Klan.”

She went on to state that President Trump should be impeached and be charged with “obstruction of justice” for his role in Comey’s case. “This president needs to be impeached! I believe that,” Waters stated in May.

She even campaigned hard arguing that “I don’t respect this president. I don’t trust this president. He’s not working in the best interests of the American people. His motives and his actions are contemptible,” “I will fight every day until he is impeached,” Waters had reportedly stated. “Impeach 45! Impeach 45! Impeach 45!”

However, with the ongoing case against Trump Jr. and his meeting with the Russians, Waters believes that she can gain popularity on social media.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday night, Waters called on her party to not let Trump Jr. “off the hook.”

“At this point, the [New York Times] could release Trump leaving a voice message thanking Putin for his services and GOP would still say ‘nothing burger,”” she wrote.

“Don’t let Trump Jr off the hook. Emails show his willingness to get info from Russia to influence election,” the California Democrat added. “He is in a long line of LIARS.”

"We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning"

It seemed like the entirety of the United States of America was against the travel ban imposed by Donald Trump as his first major executive order. Just to refresh your memory, it was to stop people from six Muslim majority from entering the United States and the mainstream media criticized Trump for this decision. There was concern that it violated human rights, and would cause more harm than good for the United States image across the world as well.

The Democrats came out with full force to voice frustration at Trump and his administration, and it seemed like the wheels were about to come off with massive protests being held on airports across the country. However, a recent survey conducted by Politico reveals that 60% of registered voters supported the Travel ban imposed by Trump. The ban denies entry to people coming from six Muslim majority countries for an indefinite time-period, and this caused a lot of people to be stranded in limbo.

Democrats supporting Travel Ban?

The most shocking result of the survey conducted by Politico was not that 89% Republicans support the ban, but that 41% of Democrats also support it. This comes as a surprise, but there were 46% of Democrats who oppose the ban, compared to only 9% Republicans. There has also been a change in Independent supporters, with 56% supporting the travel ban, and 30% not in favor of it.

This is in stark contrast to the picture that the mainstream media is trying to paint, and it seems that there is a personal agenda against Trump and his policies. Contrary to what the media would have people believe, there is a lot of support for the Travel Ban imposed by Trump, and Democrats are also backing it.

New Guidelines Shifting Perspective

The survey covered by Politico shows that a lot of people support the new guidelines added into the travel ban, which suggest that visa applicants from the six Muslim majority countries, must prove they have close family relationships with a U.S. resident. The media isn’t highlighting the fact that there is now popular support for the travel ban, because they don’t want to give credit to Trump, who did what he promised in his very first executive order.

The mainstream media would have you believe that there is an ongoing war between the Democrats and the Republicans, and will never show you that the Democrats are also fans of the Travel Ban.

They are fighting over your taxpayer money, as usual... Drain The Swamp!

As we come to yet another session of voting on the Healthcare bill, the divide within the medical community is very clear and rather alarming.

Many doctors and hospitals are very strongly advocating against the bill, while some even took the initiative of sending letters to the leaders of the Senate, addressing their concerns about the $772 billion the bill is set to cut from Medicaid.

The ObamaCare repeal bill includes deep cuts being made on Medicaid and focuses on reshaping the program to a system that relies on capped federal payments and limits spending.

A recent study further highlights that the bill favors the rich far more than the poor population. The Time talks about the study, “A new study, released Tuesday, offers one reason why: The measure dramatically favors the wealthiest Americans, at the expense of the least well off. The study, conducted by the Tax Policy Center — a joint venture of the Brookings Institution and Urban Institute and the Urban Institute’s Health Policy Center — used economic models to estimate the effect of the Senate health bill’s impact on Americans in all different income groups.”

They further highlight that the studies shows, ” roughly 14 million American families earning $200,000 or more would enjoy an annual net benefit of roughly $5,400 a year by 2026, when the law would be fully implemented, the study found.

Poorer families would not benefit significantly from the bill’s tax cuts, and would be hurt by other provisions, which include less generous health insurance tax credits and less generous Medicaid spending than what they would be able to count on under Obamacare,” as stated by the Time.

While, those in favor of the bill pointed out that the bill contains provisions such as $140 billion in tax cuts and $50 billion over the course of four years to stabilize the insurance market. Furthermore, it also contains a little more than $60 million to help insurance providers cover patients with high costs.

The BlueCross BlueShield Association backed the bill by stating, “We are encouraged that the draft Senate legislation funds cost-sharing reductions, which help those who need it most with out-of-pocket costs, so they can access care,” the group said. “The state stability and innovation program will also go a long way in helping to cover the costs of caring for those with significant medical needs.”

Anthem, too showed their support and stated, “We believe the Senate discussion draft will markedly improve the stability of the individual market and moderate premium increases” because it appropriates billions of dollars in short-term funding to shore up the exchanges, provides cost-sharing reduction funds and eliminates a tax on health insurance plans, Anthem said in a statement.

Jeff Myers, president and CEO of Medicaid Health Plans of America expressed, “Reconciliation makes that kumbaya moment very hard,” and that at the time of ObamaCare, “while everyone was giving up something, there was some value in the creation of new opportunities. But they’re not passing out candy here.”

Moreover, it has been noted that the bill is most likely to adopt the tax cuts much similar to those implemented under ObamaCare.. Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune, of South Dakota said, “I don’t think anything is final, but obviously that is the direction I think a lot of our members want to move,” Thune said after a closed-door meeting with GOP lawmakers. “Which is to keep some of those [taxes] in place and be able to use those revenues to put into other places in the bill where it can make a difference.”

It is be noted, the Republicans are at least seven votes short of the 50 votes they need to get the bill approved by the Senate. Sources have highlighted that as soon as a draft copy of the bill was made available, quite a chunk of the GOP senators strongly expressed their discontent. The senators although argued against the bill, they too had divided opinion. While, some argued that the bill was not conservative enough, another group such as Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, and Dean Heller of Nevada argued that the bill appeared to be way too conservative.
