Vaping Congressman
The proverbial "smoke-filled room" of the 21st century will be clouded by vape smoke, as politicians plot new ways to cheat taxpayers...

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) is coming under pressure for his protest against the anti-vaping law, on one hand, and his democratic challenger on the other.  Democrat, Ammar Campa-Najjar beat Hunter in fundraising by pulling in $165,330 in the period between April and June. Hunter, an incumbent who is expected to have a commanding lead in fundraising, was only able to raise $155,625.

Hunter rose to national prominence through his opposition to restrictions on vaping. He has been strongly arguing that the restriction on e-cigarette needs to be seriously reconsidered. “Let me show you the problem I have with Ms. Norton’s amendment,” Hunter argued.

Duncan whipped out a small electronic cigarette that contained nicotine and took a puff from it. Then he pulled out a larger red vaporizer that contained no nicotine. “This is not covered … under Ms. Norton’s amendment,” and puffed from the second device to prove his point… “That doesn’t make sense to me. Either say that an e-cigarette is illegal whether it has nicotine or not in it.”

Although Hunter has $617,757 in campaign funds in the bank, putting him way ahead of Campa-Najjar, he is facing an ongoing FBI investigation that is looking into his use of $336,664 of the campaign funds for his own use, is an issue that has dogged Hunter for months. Hunter has denied his involvement “in any criminal action,” and stated that he “wasn’t attentive enough to my campaign.”

“..Hunter has a solid voter registration advantage and has cruised to re-election in the past, he is now contending with a federal criminal investigation into improper use of more than $60,000 in campaign funds. Past finance reports showed that contributions were used for video games, dance recitals, tuition at his children’s’ private school, a cross-country flight for a pet rabbit, and other expenses,” The San Diego Union Tribune reported.

As highlighted by The San Diego Union Tribune, “Hunter said the purchases were an honest mistake because of a credit card mix-up, and has repaid his campaign. Legal fees, however, have cost his campaign significant amounts. Records show that he’s spent about $153,000 in attorney’s fees in the second quarter of this year.”

The Hill on the other hand, notes, “Hunter has spent $152,859 in capital and $114,412 in debt to seven law firms in the San Diego and Washington, D.C., areas since March, according to his latest campaign finance report.” And that, “the lawmaker raised about $155,625 in the same time frame.”

Although, Hunter is allowed to spend his campaign funds on legal fees, he mentioned that he will continue to look into all of his campaigns spending and will be cooperating with the officials involved in the investigation. Hunter’s attorneys, Elliot S. Berke and Gregory A. Vega, further emphasized, “Congressman Hunter intends to cooperate fully with the government on this investigation, and maintains that to the extent any mistakes were made they were strictly inadvertent and unintentional.”

They are stealing our jobs, our manufacturing, and now our nuke secrets too?

A government-owned nuclear laboratory with a lengthy history of security breaches is under fire again for mistakenly shipping radioactive material on a commercial cargo plane. It marks the latest of many shameful scandals at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, among the world’s largest science institutions and the nation’s key nuclear weapons research facility. The massive lab is charged with developing technology to reduce global threats and ensure the safety, security and reliability of the U.S. nuclear deterrent.

Judicial Watch has long monitored the Los Alamos National Laboratory and was heavily involved in exposing a Chinese communist scientist (Wen Ho Lee), who stole nuclear secrets from the facility back in 1999. The Bill Clinton Justice Department refused to prosecute Lee because then Attorney General Janet Reno claimed the accusations against him were racist. Judicial Watch represented the whistleblower, Notra Trulock, responsible for launching an investigation into Lee’s actions. Trulok was the Department of Energy’s (DOE) intelligence operations chief and Clinton administration officials defamed him by accusing him of being a racist to cover up Lee’s repeated and embarrassing security violations.

A multitude of scandals have rocked the facility since then and Judicial Watch has closely followed the government’s perpetual failure to adequately guard the lab’s highly classified material. A few years ago, a Los Alamos scientist and his wife, both contractors at the facility, stole “classified restricted data” involving nuclear weapons and passed it along to a foreign government that’s hostile to the U.S. The scientist, Pedro Leonardo Mancheron, is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Argentina and his wife, Marjorie, also an American citizen, did technical writing and editing at Los Alamos.

Both individuals had security clearances and passed the classified material to a person they believed to be a Venezuelan government official. The scientist admitted selling the information relating to the “United States’ national defense” and lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). His wife admitted communicating restricted data belonging to the United States to another person with reason to believe that the information would be used to secure an advantage to Venezuela. She also admitted lying to the FBI.

A few years earlier, Los Alamos officials sent top secret data relating to nuclear weapons via an open electronic mail network and police accidentally stumbled upon it in a drug dealer’s mobile home during a drug bust. The highly classified information included details of the actual characteristics of nuclear material used in weapons. The 1,500 highly classified nuclear weapons designs were stashed in a trailer park near the lab along with paraphernalia to manufacture methamphetamine. This was hardly an isolated incident. In the late 90s and early 2000 the facility became an embarrassment to the Energy Department. Revelations of theft, fraud, security lapses and lax oversight kept Los Alamos in the news and led to the release of an Energy Department document labeling it “a systematic management failure.”

The problem is not limited to Los Alamos. The nation’s other government-owned nuclear labs have also experienced decades of faulty management, weak security and lousy oversight. A few years ago, a federal audit blasted the government agency, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), responsible for securing the nation’s nuclear weapons—and the facilities where they are housed. Among the probe’s findings was that Los Alamos grants entire organizations or functional groups unauthorized access to nuclear weapons drawings, in violation of DOE rules.

At another New Mexico facility, Sandia National Laboratory, investigators found repeated instances of “ineffective management of classified nuclear weapons drawings, a situation that could lead to unauthorized changes to the drawings.” At the Pantex nuclear weapons assembly plant in Texas, officials couldn’t even find a chunk of the nuclear weapons that federal investigators picked from the stockpile for testing. Keep in mind that these are government facilities that supposedly operate with maximum security.

The latest incident at Los Alamos was reported this month in a local newspaper article that says procedures were not followed when shipping “special nuclear material” to facilities in California and South Carolina. The radioactive material had been packaged for ground transport, the article states, but was mistakenly shipped aboard a commercial cargo plane, a violation of U.S. regulations. “Employees have been fired and other personnel actions have been taken,” according to the story. Not surprisingly, officials at the facility declined to provide details about the actions against the negligent employees and downplayed it as a “mix-up.”

Ben Rhodes
"What is the latest secret intel you have on the Trump Administration Ben?"

Deputy assistant to President Trump is ready to go head to head with former White House staff member Ben Rhodes, to prove that President Trump’s administration is far stronger that Obama’s administration ever was.

In his interview with Sean Hannity on Friday, Gorka had expressed in the past that as “someone has to be the president’s pitbull,” I would gladly do the job. He highlighted that the Trump administration is fully equipped to deal with everything that comes their way. “We’ve got beautiful, intelligent women like Kellyanne [Conway],” Gorka stated. “We’ve got brave professionals like Sean Spicer. Somebody has to be the president’s pit bull and I’m ready.”

However, this wasn’t the only highlight to of the week that featured Gorka.

Gorka has issued a challenge to Obama’s aide Ben Rhodes, from his Twitter account in response to Jake Tapper who claimed that, Ben Rhodes “would put his ‘graduate degree’ against [Sebastian Gorka’s] PhD [sic] any day of the week.” “Okay Jake, host the debate then,” stated Gorka.

“I’d be delighted,” he tweeted. “What say you Mr. [Rhodes,] Mr. [Tapper]?”

The tweet contained a video of a very combative exchange between Jake Tapper and Gorka. Towards the end, the Trump aide mocks a former Trump aide’s graduate degree, and Tapper jabs back at him.

In a heated argument with Jake Tapper, Gorka criticized that “policies that were borne in the beltway by people who’ve never worn a uniform, people that were in the White House like Ben Rhodes.”

“They helped create the firestorm that is the Middle East that is ISIS today,” he further added. “So we are open to new ideas because the last sixteen years have failed American national interests, and the American taxpayer,” he stated.

Tapper responded with a challenge to Gorka, “There were plenty of people who wore the uniform who advised President Obama and President Bush.”

“Not people as influential as Ben Rhodes who had a Master’s degree in fictional writing,” Gorka argued. “That is disastrous.”

And then came the challenge where Tapper argued that people like Rhodes could “put his graduate degree against” Gorka’s PHD “any day of the week.

“Well, I’m sure he would put his graduate degree against yours any day of the week,” Tapper stated. “Sebastian Gorka, I appreciate your time,” he added.

Gorka, took on the challenge as he expressed, “Anytime, I’d be glad to debate him on your show.’

However, the discussion didn’t end with the show, but continued on Twitter as Gorka tweeted “I’d be delighted. What say you Mr. @brhodes?,” as he went on share a clip from the show.

During his interview with Tapper Gorka backed Trump and his administration by stating that America needs to give “collaboration, cooperation, a chance.”

He added, “The fact is we may not share the same philosophy. We may not share the same type of statesman view of the world. But the fact is there are some issues of common concern.”

"We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning"

It seemed like the entirety of the United States of America was against the travel ban imposed by Donald Trump as his first major executive order. Just to refresh your memory, it was to stop people from six Muslim majority from entering the United States and the mainstream media criticized Trump for this decision. There was concern that it violated human rights, and would cause more harm than good for the United States image across the world as well.

The Democrats came out with full force to voice frustration at Trump and his administration, and it seemed like the wheels were about to come off with massive protests being held on airports across the country. However, a recent survey conducted by Politico reveals that 60% of registered voters supported the Travel ban imposed by Trump. The ban denies entry to people coming from six Muslim majority countries for an indefinite time-period, and this caused a lot of people to be stranded in limbo.

Democrats supporting Travel Ban?

The most shocking result of the survey conducted by Politico was not that 89% Republicans support the ban, but that 41% of Democrats also support it. This comes as a surprise, but there were 46% of Democrats who oppose the ban, compared to only 9% Republicans. There has also been a change in Independent supporters, with 56% supporting the travel ban, and 30% not in favor of it.

This is in stark contrast to the picture that the mainstream media is trying to paint, and it seems that there is a personal agenda against Trump and his policies. Contrary to what the media would have people believe, there is a lot of support for the Travel Ban imposed by Trump, and Democrats are also backing it.

New Guidelines Shifting Perspective

The survey covered by Politico shows that a lot of people support the new guidelines added into the travel ban, which suggest that visa applicants from the six Muslim majority countries, must prove they have close family relationships with a U.S. resident. The media isn’t highlighting the fact that there is now popular support for the travel ban, because they don’t want to give credit to Trump, who did what he promised in his very first executive order.

The mainstream media would have you believe that there is an ongoing war between the Democrats and the Republicans, and will never show you that the Democrats are also fans of the Travel Ban.

Escaping Justice
I guess it was only a matter of time till the 'race card' also became a 'get out of jail free' card...

David Grant was strangled to death in a West Florida parking lot in July 2012. Five years late the Broward County State Attorney’s Office has dropped all charges against Joni Donley, man who confessed to killing him.

Grant, a math tutor had arranged a meeting with Donley at a Dunkin Donuts in the County. According to reports, what followed was a simple argument that broke out into a fatal altercation.

“He physically attacked David, and he kicked him to the ground, and he knocked him out…and then he left David face down in the parking lot, while he fled in his vehicle.”

Said Carol Fields, David’s grieving sister describing the grisly details while speaking after the controversial court ruling.

According to eyewitnesses the argument had started inside the Dunkin Donuts regarding payments that needed to be made to the tutor. As it progressed, the pair are said to have moved outside where Grant called Donley a racial slur, confirmed by witnesses. A memo released by the State states that this then “suddenly provoked [Donley] to turn and strike Mr. Grant.”

By all accounts what followed afterwards is a gross mishandling of justice, taken into custody about ten hours after the fight Donley was charged with murder. According to police reports, during Joni was crawling on the floor talking to himself saying

“You killed somebody, Jon. How could you? How could you have done that? Oh, my God, I took a life. … This guy’s dead for nothing, for nothing, Jon.”

A key witness for the case was also identified in Saudi student Ahmad Alsuvae, however the testimony he provided was not preserved for use by the prosecution. Nor was any note made of the fact that Alsuvae planned to return to his home country upon the completion of his studies. Ultimately, this meant that key details that might have pushed the case in favor of State prosecutors were lost.

For their part the State said that they lacked “competent evidence”, that proved the killing did not take place in self-defense. Apparently Donley had been walking away, before the slur and had held grant for “approximately 15 seconds”, despite the tentative terms used by the State the autopsy report confirmed that this was homicide by strangulation. While Grant may have been 400 pounds and cardiovascular disease was a “contributory cause of death”, the judgment this was not by any means a natural death.

An understandable upset Field family denies the State’s claims however saying,

“We were told to let the State Attorney handle it. We did that, and the result was a killer walked away,”

From the evidence we can gather that definitely seems to be the case. With a clear as daylight confession from the attacker, and several eye witnesses to the crime at hand the question stands – why was this man allowed to walk free? Does the use of one ill-advised racial slur justify execution?

Blame Game
"Well, Ash, I don't have time to sit hear and listen to these complaints - I have another tropical vacation I need to be getting to..."

The former defense secretary for the Obama administration comes clean as he talks about how the Obama administration was well aware of Russia’s meddling in the elections and yet failed to do much against Russia for its meddling in the 2016 election. He stated that the administration took “some actions” against them, however, this “was not sufficient” enough to teach Russia a lesson.

While, on one side, Donald Trump Jr. is under the spotlight for his meeting with a Russian lawyer, the Obama administration too are not very far behind when it comes to building ties with Russia.

As reports revealed by the Washington Post suggested that the Obama administration was well aware of Russia’s hand in the elections, and yet they failed to take any serious measures, President Trump made complete use of this opportunity, as he tweeted, “The Obama Administration knew far in advance of November 8th about election meddling by Russia. Did nothing about it. WHY?” Trump tweeted on June 23.

The president argued in a tweet he posted in June that, “The reason that President Obama did NOTHING about Russia after being notified by the CIA of meddling is that he expected Clinton would win..”

This Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” host Dana Bash met with the former president’s defense secretary. She took this opportunity to allow the public to get a clear understanding of what the administration did or could have done to stop Russia in the near future.  Bash asked Carter, as to “why didn’t he [Obama] act?” against Russia?

It has been noted that Ash Carter was personally present in the Situation Room, as the former President was made aware of Russia’s intention in terms of the presidential election.

Carter responded by stating that the former president did take “some actions.” Whereas, the department that he managed “took a wide range of actions.”

“To me, this was part of a pattern. To me, personally, this was part of a pattern with Vladimir Putin. But I don’t think — I think it’s quite clear that was not sufficient,” Carter said.

“That’s why it’s so important to press the Russians now. If it were sufficient, Vladimir Putin’s answer to our president wouldn’t have been to cast doubt upon or ask for further intelligence from the United States,” Carter added.

“Did President Obama make a mistake in not doing more?” Bash asked Carter.

“He took some steps, no question about it. But I think you see from Vladimir Putin’s answer right now that more needs to be done,” Carter said.

“Putin is not convinced that there are going to be consequences of a magnitude for Russia, as a consequence of interfering with the U.S. election that make it unwise for him to do it in the future. That hasn’t been accomplished yet,” Carter said.

While, President Trump hasn’t quite yet set up a press conference to discuss his meeting with Vladimir Putin. However, Reuters has reported Putin stating, “I believe it would not be entirely appropriate on my part to disclose details of my discussion with Mr. Trump. He asked, I answered him. He asked pointed questions, I answered them. It seemed to me that he was satisfied with those answers.”

Mayor de Blasio's political posturing stops for no man - and certainly for no dead man!

Mayor de Blasio, yet again proves his support and concerns towards the NYPD, as he flies out to Germany while New York mourns the death of the police officer.

“No one in uniform is surprised by de Blasio’s show of disrespect,” stated Pat Lynch, president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.

As the New York City went on to mourn the death of Officer Miosotis Familia in an unprovoked attack,” Mayor de Blasio found it much more important to take a trip to Germany to praise the police force of Hamburg.

Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican who is set to run against de Blasio in the upcoming elections noted, “Unbelievable. Instead of jet-setting around the world, he should be here doing his job.”

“A police officer was murdered, street homelessness has skyrocketed and people continue to get delayed on the trains,” she added.

And that, “the mayor should be embarrassed by the way he has treated the men and women of our police department.”

Moreover, Greg Gutfeld and Eric Bolling at Fox News took turns to completely shatter de Blasio’s image as a mayor.

“You know who the worst is out of everything? Mayor Bill de Blasio,” Gutfeld said on Fox Thursday. “Without telling anybody, anybody in the city, he flew to Germany to protest. He claims the the cost was footed by Hamberg…what a horrible little man-child this is, to sneak out of the city. He leaves his city’s responsibilities to go protest. He’s such a dirtbag.”

“The city needs a leader on the issue of violence against police — not a mayor giving a speech in Europe in the wake of the murder of one of New York’s Finest.” Noted the NY Daily News.

De Blasio, on the other hand, tried to simmer down the criticism as he said during his speech at a G20 protest speech on Saturday, “My nation isn’t broken, but my nation is going through an identity crisis,” de Blasio he said to the crowd. And that “It’s on its way somewhere and I know it’s somewhere good because I see what happens in the neighborhoods in my city … I see the process of change underway.”

While most Maryland residents were at home enjoying their Fourth of July celebrations, vandals snuck into Wood Acres Elementary to deface a school sign to display the message, “EW, TRUMP! MURDER HIS A**”.  The placement and shocking nature of the threat has caused anger in the close-knit Bethesda community, said Andrew Johnson the local resident who spotted and took down the message

“It wouldn’t have mattered if it was Trump, Obama, Clinton, Bush. It was a threat and you know it.”

This is just the latest in a long line of violent attacks and statements made against the President and GOP.  This rhetoric recently culminated in the June 14th shooting of a Republican congressional baseball team, victims of which included House majority whip Steve Scalise.

With the country speaking overwhelmingly against establishment Democrats in the last election is it any wonder now, that instead of focusing on the many problems facing their party, liberals are directing their anger at those chosen to lead?

It’s all over the media anywhere you look. From Kathy Griffin’s vile attempt at courting controversy, shown holding a severed head, to Madonna claiming she’s though about “blowing up the White House” mainstream media sources that are quick to start an uproar at Trump’s latest tweets are surprisingly silent when it comes to this behavior.

Statistics published in a recent Pew Research Center study shows that 4 in 10 Democrats and Republicans see the other party as an active threat to the country. It just goes to show that we’re finding ourselves living in an increasingly divided country split along partisan lines.  Where serious threats become glib buzzwords and echo chambers appear ready to permit even the worst behavior.

Even without calls to violence the dumbing down of mainstream discourse in the country is a sad indictment on how far we need to go to regain our lost values and ideals. In fact Journalistic standards have fallen so far that an annual 2016 Gallup Poll showed only 32 percent of Americans having a great or fair amount of trust in the media.

While many of us retain faith in the people of this great country to see our way clear of this impasse, we pray that further incidents are not needed to stop these efforts at fracturing us further.

Police Funeral
The Black Lives Matter crowd incite contempt and mistrust towards police, and then act surprised at the result of their campaigns of hatred.

Patrick J. Lynch, the head of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, a labor union set up for the city’s police officers, urges the public to be the “eyes and ears,” for the police officers.

“This kind of violence against police officers cannot stand,” he stated.  “We need the public’s help. When you see someone that’s making threats, doing something against police officers, you need to let us know. You need to be our eyes and ears. We also have to remember the hundreds of police officers that are here now with their heads bowed in sorrow,” Lynch added.

Morning after the 4th of July, a police officer was shot dead in an “unprovoked attack,” in Bronx, as she was sitting in her police vehicle, protecting the city from crime when she was shot in the head by a gunman. Her partner radioed for assistance, while the other officers chased the gunman, who then tried to draw a revolver, and caused the cops to shot and kill him on the spot.

“The officer, Miosotis Familia, 48, a 12-year veteran of the police force assigned to the anti-crime unit of the 46th Precinct, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead,” as noted by NY Times.

The New York City police commissioner has called the attack as “unprovoked attack” and mentioned that the killer was killed, shortly after. “Based on what we know right now, this was an unprovoked attack against police officers who want to keep this great city safe,” Commissioner O’Neill stated in an interview.  It has been noted that the suspect has been identified as a black male, Alexander Bonds, 34, of New York City.

Whereas, a surveillance footage recovered from the scene highlights that the gunman had rather “purposefully” approached the car, and fired the shot, as Familia was engaged in writing something in a book.

Mayor Bill de Blasio, expressed his grief by stating, “She was on duty, serving this city, protecting people, doing what she believed in and doing the job she loved,” he said. “And after this shocking and sudden attack her fellow officers came to her aid immediately.”

Bernie Sanders
"Do as I say, not as I do!"

On Tuesday, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) appeared to have gotten quite agitated following a question by CNN’s Erin Burnett, regarding the FBI’s investigation of his wife’s role in possible fraud in a land deal that failed, when she was president of Burlington College.

“We understand your wife has hired a lawyer to represent her in a possible probe into a land deal that fell apart,” Burnett said. “This was back when she was president of Burlington College—”

“No, it was not when she was, oh,” Sanders interrupted, “let me say a word about that, you know.”

“I just want to ask you,” Burnett continued, “do you know if she’s under FBI investigation?”

“Excuse me,” Sanders interjected, “my wife is about the most honest person I know. When she came to that college, it was failing financially and academically. When she left it, it was in better shape than it had ever been.”

“Five years later, just at the moment, coincidentally no doubt, when I’m a candidate for president of the United States, Donald Trump’s campaign manager, a co-chair, vice chairman of the Republican Party in Vermont launched this investigation,” he continued.

“So all that I will tell you now, Erin, it is a sad state of affairs in America,” Sanders added, “not only when we have you know politicians being destroyed … when there are attacks against elected officials, when you’re going after your wife, people’s wives, that is pretty pathetic, and that’s where we are right now, and that’s about all that I’m going to say.”

“I do just want to understand though,” Burnett pressed, “at this time, do you have any knowledge as to whether she’s under FBI investigation?”

“That’s all that I want to say, and we’ll let it play out,” he responded. “But I think it’s fairly pathetic that when, you know, people are involved in public life, it’s not only that they get attacked, but it’s their wives and their families that they get attacked. That’s what this is about.”

The FBI is looking into a $10 million loan that Jane Sanders took to buy 33 acres of land for Burlington College. Investigating authorities believe Sanders likely overstated the financial position of the college to secure the loan. Hence, when the donations she had promised weren’t fulfilled, the institution defaulted.

Investigators are also looking into the possibility that Senator Bernie Sanders may have used his position in the government to influence the loan in any way.
